Product Wars | High Street Concealers

Concealers are so big these days, especially since the likes of Tarte Shape Tape hit the stores! So I thought I’d go through some cheaper alternatives and discussing what I think about them! And rating certain aspects of them and challenge them against each other!

These concealers are all supposed to resemble a similar desire. Covering dark circles and full coverage gorgeousness! So I thought I would put these all to the test. Some are brand new, some are old favourites. Some are more on the expensive side of high street and others are costing pennies! So I am going to go through them all and put the following things to the test. Coverage, Brightening, Texture/Cakeyness, Moisture, Longevity/Creasing.

Barry M All Night Long Full Coverage Concealer

This concealer is advertised as a full coverage concealer. however I would say out of them all it is the least coverage, you can see my purpleness and redness through it. However it does feel very nourishing in the skin so will not cake under my eyes! But the moisture does make it prone to creasing!

L’Oreal Infallible More Than Concealer

This concealer has coverage!! It has a great deal of tackiness which means it could also be used as an eyeshadow base. I really like the way this feels on my skin as I can actually feel it is covering my imperfections when buffing it in! It is a slightly thicker consistency but it doesn’t feel heavy!

Obsession Mega Conceal

This is definitely the most brightening of all of the concealers! This could be due to it having caffeine in it, but I also think the texture is a lot more moisurisising which adds illumination to the under eyes. However I did find this creased a fair bit! So I would recommend powdering it! But it did exaggerate a bit of texture!

Longevity/Creasing – 2/5

Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Full Coverage Concealer

Damn this concealer has coverage and there is a reason as to why this has been my favourite concealer of all time for so long! It covers, it doesn’t cake, it doesn’t exaggerate my texture and it illuminates! I choose this over my more expensive concealers! I urge everyone to try this!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

This concealer was a cult classic for years, and I wanted to retry it because I too, was a massive fan of this concealer back in the day! The coverage is amazing for how lightweight it feels however it really does feel a little drying in my skin! And I get quite dry under my eyes due to weepy eyes!

Moisture – 2/5

Longevity/Creasing – 4/5

Pixi Pat Away Concealing Base

This concealer is fantastic in terms of coverage and lack of creasing, however this concealer really does feel so so dry. And exaggerates my texture so badly that my eyes look bumpy and more wrinkly! And I’m only 23! I do not want wrinkles just yet! So would probably rather use this on blemishes!

Coverage – 5/5

Brightening – 2/5

Texture/Cakeyness – 1/5

Moisture – 1/5

Longevity/Creasing – 5/5

So all in all the winner is the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Full Coverage Concealer. In terms of the best coverage Pixi, Revolution and Collection. In terms of creasing the winners are Pixi (but exceptionally dry) and Collection. In terms of moisture and brightness , the winner is the Obsession one! So all in all I think the hype around Collection Lasting Perfection is certainly valid! Pixi would be great for blemishes but exaggerates too much texture under the eyes. And in terms of illumination, try the Obsession Mega Conceal!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Which is your favourite concealer of these? Or do you recommend a different one?

Thank you so much for reading!πŸ’›βœ¨
