First Impression | Boscia Charcoal Jelly Ball Cleanser

I’m a very tactile person. I like touch, touching things and textures. So when I saw RawBeautyKristi review this little gem, I was so intrigued. However I haven’t been able to find it anywhere! Boscia isn’t stocked in my Boots…until I went to the clearance section…and it was there, reduced, in all its glory! So I had to pick it up!

Now I know what you’re probably thinking. How on earth can something like this remove your makeup…well it actually does. And I was just as surprised as you. One thing that really attracted me to this product is that is it alcohol/ethanol free. So I know this won’t dry my skin out. It does contain latex though, so if you are allergic, then I would steer clear. Thankfully I am not, so was super excited to try this!

The box instruction state there is a balloon that covers the jelly ball, that you need to pierce with the pin given to you in the box. There is a sealed hole within the packaging, which is where you pierce it. It pops, boom you’re done, the jelly ball is free!

I think we should get the “rubbing balls all over your face jokes” out of the way now. Haha haha haha, it’s such a funny thing, it feels so odd and hilarious…right back to seriousness.

It is recommended to apply this to a wet face, as that way it can glide over your face with ease. I did just that. Massage this onto your face and a foam, as if by magic, will start to form. And yes, this then removes your makeup. It takes a little longer, but with how tactile and wonderful this is to use, I really am not bothered. I very much enjoy using it! And it isn’t stripping at all on my face. It removes makeup and cleanses my skin without having my skin suffer afterwards. It leaves a lovely layer of hydration in my skin, so I don’t need to rush to apply moisturiser because I feel like my skin is going to crack like Voldemort’s in the last Harry Potter!

This was how my face looked after a single cleanse (left picture)! You can see my non waterproof mascara all came off, but the only thing on my face was a little bit of eyebrow. This is the NYX eyebrow gel. With a waterproof formula that usually requires an oil to remove. So I wasn’t too bummed by this result, as it is a hard product to remove! After the second cleanse it was all disappeared and my skin felt cleansed and purified without feeling stripped of hydration!

All in all I really like this product, and not because it is really fun to use. Yes it’s a bit of a gimmick, but it’s a gimmick that does genuinely work too! Is it worth the price tag of £20? It isn’t the BEST most LIFE CHANGING cleanser. And the The Body Shop Cleansing Oil works much better. But it does work, and it is an easy product to use. So if you can get it for under £10 like I did, it is definitely worth a go. As it genuinely works and leaves your skin feeling great!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post! If you want me to try out more gimmicky products, do let me know!

Thank you so much for reading! 💛✨
