Product Wars | Gold Glitter Liners/Liquid Eyeshadows

We all love a gold liner. Be it on the upper lash line, inner corner or for emphasising a cut crease edge! They look stunning and it is such a neutral but glamorous look that suits everyone! Gives it a lil extra summit summit! You know?

These little gems are the current gold liners or what I use as gold liners, in my collection! So thought I would judge them all and see which one works best for the purpose we use them for! I tend to use them to enhance a line in a cut crease or halo eye. Or I use them to go above a black line, for added sparkle! We have from the LEFT: Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow (Gold Goddess), NYX Glitter Goals (Industrial Beam), BH Cosmetics Eyelight (Fresh), Collection Glam Crystals (Funk) and Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick (First Class). Below are the swatches!

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow (Gold Goddess) – This was probably the one to start this obsession with glitter eyeshadows with everyone. They went viral when the likes of Tati and RawBeautyKristi discussed how GORGEOUS the were! At least those were the opinions I felt mattered most! And I was not disappointed! The work as eyeshadow toppers and glitters but I love how these work as liners as well. You can sheer them out or you can really make them opaque. And they don’t feel crunchy! The only problem I had with these was how the glitter falls on your face as the day goes on. Not immensely, but you get a few specks! Which I don’t mind, they kind of end up looking like glitter freckles which I’m all about!

NYX Glitter Goals Liquid Eyeshadow (Industrial Beam) – In the tube, this looked kind of chunky so I didn’t have high hopes for this. But in actual fact it is identical to the Stila one! If anything, it is more pigmented, so if you are using it as a liner, it works so much better. But if you want to use it as a sheer wash of glitter, it’s doable, but harder. The texture is lovely. So smooth and not chunky feeling. And I found I got less glitter fall out over an 8 hour period with these than the Stila ones! I think these are so underrated! And have heard a lot less about these, than the Stila ones! And they are a fraction of the price!

BH Cosmetics Eyelights Liquid Eyeshadow (Fresh) – This shade is probably my favourite for a liner! It is so unique, like a yellow gold with a blue duochrome, giving it a greeny gold look. So gorgeous! The texture is thick and creamy which is perfect for a liner! And it lasts SO long! I had to rub at my eyes to get this off, so as a liner, this is fantastic. The only problem with this, is the blue/green can clash with certainmlooks. For me that doesn’t mind, as I like the contrast you get with it. But if you like a cohesive look, this might not be the one for you! But this is called Fresh for a reason, I’ve not seen anything like it! I’m in love! 😍

Collection Glam Crystals Liquid Glitter Liner (Funk) – These have a very unique texture. Kind of goopy. Like the liquid glitter glues you got in primary school! They take a while to dry but they do set! This has a more bronze/gold undertone to it which is lovely! It kind of has a couple of flicks of pink/rose gold to it too! It’s so pretty! These are also the cheapest, coming in at a meagre Β£4! You can pat it on the eye as a liquid shadow, and it dries quicker when it does this too! I find the texture is a little thick for me when used as a liner; a bit glue like. However it dries down, so you can persevere with it. However as it takes a while to dry down, sometimes it can transfer! So the thin line becomes thicker!

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick (First Class) – You’re probably thinking, oh no, she’s gone mad. NO! These are actually eye safe! So can be worn as eye liner! Which is amazing! This is the truest yellow gold, the kind you would imagine at Fort Knox! It isn’t necessarily glittery, but it it does have some sparkle. And it is so Metallic and shiny! It works so well as an eyeliner! I put some on the back of my hand, take a liner brush and you get a gorgeous bold line with this. And it dries down super matte and lasts ages on your lid. It almost becomes waterproof, and as I have hooded eyes, creasing can happen, but on this it doesn’t! Which is fantastic. This is the only one you can wear on your waterline too! Which gives a really unique look to the eyes! And on my green eyes, I find that super flattering with a chocolate shadow on my lash line!

So those are my gold liquid eyeshadow/glitter liner collection! All fighting to the death, not really. Let me know which one of these is your favourite! And if you have any other recommendations!

I hope you enjoyed this post!
