Movie Character Makeup | The Rocky Horror Show, Frank N Furter

For the next series I’m doing is to be Movie inspired makeup! Now I have a lot of love for horror films, so these won’t ALL be super cute girly and wearable makeup looks! However there will be character inspired makeup looks as well as themed and gory ones! It gives me a chance to be super creative, which was the whole reason why I started getting into makeup! So if you have any movies you’d like to recommend let me know, a this is as much your series as my series too! And you won’t want to just deal with my favourites! Which can sometimes be quite obscure haha!

It’s so difficult to choose my favourite musical. I love them. However The Rocky Horror Show has got to be up there towards if at the very top. I love the cheesiness. I love the music. I love the makeup and costumes. And I love Tim Curry! I love his somewhat disheveled appearance and his endearing it is. And I love his sense of humour in this. He portrays this role perfectly! So thought I had to go his makeup!

The point of his makeup is to look that bit disheveled and undone, and I wanted to portray that, which is difficult because there is so much pressure to have perfect makeup. So I didn’t glue my eyebrows down, as he didn’t, and I didn’t focus on nice clean lines, and instead just focused on the general look of it being slightly undone.

I started the look with an eye primer, I used the MAC Paint Pot in Painterly. I then went into the MAC eyeshadow in Scene and applied this heavily along the brow/bridge of nose and the eyelid. And then washed it over the rest of the lid. I then went into the shade Typographic from MAC and applied this just where I applied Scene heavily; brow/bridge of nose and the eyelid. Then for the eyeliner. I started with a little point in the inner corner, as his looked like it had a slight feline flick to the inner corner. I then roughly outlined the upper lash line and then the crease and connected them both together. Then did my brows. It had a slight pointy flick to the start of the brow, and then curved along the brow bone. In some pictures it looks like it connects to the other eyeliner, so that is what I did. It was my interpretation after all, and I liked the way it looked with this attribute to the look. I the. Went into my Clinique Quickliner for Eyes Intense in Intense Ebony to my lower lash line, heavily and my waterline. Finally I applied mascara and debated lashes but he didn’t and I wanted to keep it as true as possible to his look. And that’s the look completed!

I hope you enjoyed this look! I would love to know what you think of The Rocky Horror Show! It’s literally one of my favourite films ever!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post! 💛✨
