Product Wars | Felt Tip Liners

I have been loving the look of a simple eyeshadow look and then a winged liner. Having poor lashes, it emphasises and frames my eyes without the help of falsies. Which I love. And thought I would grab all of my felt liners and battle them against each other to see which is the blackest, which lasts the longest etc! I hope you enjoy!

Liquid liner! The way you can define your eyes, change the shape of your eyes and add drama without going to too much effort. Don’t get me wrong, it can be tricky! I have perfected my technique and a lot of it is learning what looks best on your eye shape. I have hooded eyes, with a hidden crease, so can’t go too extreme with mine because it will transfer in the lines and look off. So I know how big I can go now!

I am going to judge these eyeliners on 5 different subjects. Blackness, longevity, sharpness, ease and price! So we can see not only how it performs but also how it looks and how accessible it is! And with that, let’s get onto the mini reviews!

Too Faced Better Than Sex Felt Tip Liner

This was probably the weakest in pigment, which I was very shocked and disappointed about. I tried it a couple of times, shaking it well, drawing it on my hand first to work the pigment but nope, it was quite watery. This took 3 layers to get this level of pigment! Which was a lot of effort and not handy for people in a rush in the morning. That being said, it’s a lovely brush tip, very easy to use and you can get a lovely sharp line. It just is a little lack lustre! With that it lasted alright, but throughout the day the weakness did show through and it wore off a little bit. All in all, not the best and didn’t really deserve the hype. Unless I just got a bad one. But not too chuffed.

L’Oréal Paris Superliner Perfect Slim Eyeliner

I was so impressed with this, and heard so many amazing things about this eyeliner, in terms of performance, it is fantastic. Black in one swipe, super sharp and easy to use. Only downfall to this is the lid, it doesn’t snap close. Which means I constantly find it in my makeup bag without a top and with this it is already drying out. Which is so annoying because on first application I was so impressed! Price wise, it is under the £10 mark, which makes it for more accessible to people and it performs better than ones double the price! The product is awesome, the packaging just sucks!

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner

This was pleasantly surprising. I’ve heard mixed reviews on this. But the main point of this that I enjoyed was how black it was and how long it lasted! I suffer from watery eyes, due to allergies, but this did last really well. Only probably I had was the ease of it. You can see the line was not my neatest, and that was because the brush was not stiff but not too flexible. That awkward in between so I didn’t get the right motion straight away, and didn’t want to eff it up more and go back in. We all know how that goes (panda eyes). But the actual product itself is lush!

Benefit Roller Liner

If I had to choose a favourite then this would be it. The tip is so long and so thin that you can get the crispiest line ever! That’s right! It could cut a bitch! So easy and the packaging is adorable! Nice and black, mine is well loved so pigment is slightly weaker and on the way out but on first application it was so black! I purchased this back in January, and now it’s June, so. Can’t complain, considering how much I’ve used it. It also lasts very well, which is nice. It only wore off around my inner corner a couple of times, because I suffer so badly with watery eyes. So that was me down to dabbing my eyes, and not the eyeliner not performing well! When I have a normal day, it lasts all day! Worth the money hands down! Will repurchase (when I use all of these up!).

Smashbox Always On Liquid Eyeliner

This eyeliner out of all of them, lasts the longest, I can believe the waterproof claims! Even with my cleansing oil, I had to rub my eyes, rather than it just melting off. So very impressive and when the pollen count is high, I shall go for this out of all of them! It is super sharp and you can get right in the inner corner with the super thin tip, which was what I was so impressed with! Normally I struggle with that, so ease wise, it is the best! Plus the packaging! It is delightful! A tapered shape and a lovely click close! Feels so luxe! It is also the DARKEST eyeliner of them all!

NYX Epic Ink Liquid Eyeliner Pen

This was the one that started this review! I was so impressed with the depth of this one that I was in Debenhams and was like LIGHTBULB MOMENT! PRODUCT WARS! I wanted to see how the expensive ones compared to this one! But now I’ve tried the expensive ones, I have a few issues with this. The sharpness isn’t the best, because the top isn’t the most tapered. But it is the blackest eyeliner I have found from the high street! And it lasts so well! It is just difficult to get a super slick flick!

Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen

So I received this in a Clinique gift set a few Christmases ago. And fell in love. It is so black and liquidy that you can get the sleekest line, you just can’t get the sharpest end of the flick because the brush tip isn’t the most taprered. You can, it just takes a little more work. But it is a gorgeous eyeliner. Nice and black, lasts all day and it is very easy to use, unless you want a very teeny and sharp end. Then it requires a little more effort. Not too much though, not as difficult as the Stila one! This is the only one I have consistently repurchased. Not only because of Boots points (Clinique usually have an offer to receive more Boots points on your card) but also because I really enjoy it! So underrated, and don’t harm enough people talking about it!

So those are my mini reviews! The stand out ones for me are the Clinique, Roller Liner and L’Oréal! The one that lasts the longest is the Smashbox one, I was shaking to my inner core!! The one I find is so not worth the hype is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Liner, I really didn’t understand why so many people are raving about it when the likes of the four I just mentioned are on the market (for same price or less!). The NYX one is a great affordable option! But for an extra £1 I would suggest the L’Oréal one!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Thank you so much for reading! 💛✨
