Top 5 | Highlighters

Highlighters. Something that will never fail to give my heart eyes and butterflies. Hey that rhymed! Anyway, glowing is something I really need to fake. Being chronically ill means I sleep minimally every night, so I look tired and sallow. BUT if I pop one of these bad boys on, I look rejuvenated and healthy! It is probably one of my favourite products of all makeup products, and the one I can’t help but constantly buy multiples of!

Revolution Strobe Highlighter (Flash) – This was the first highlight to blow me away. It is a pearly white with a green/aqua shift to it and it is sublime! I have gotten so many people buying this because they ask WHAT is your highlight. And I’m like ITS DIRT CHEAP YOU NEED IT OMG! I have bought it for friends who have equally fallen in love with it too! It is just such an underrated product, especially for the price! I’ve tried more expensive highlighters that were lack lustre, while this makes you visible to satellites!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Supreme Frost (Money Honey) – Another green shift, but this is a more yellow/green/gold. But when I say this is glittery I don’t mean in a cheap dusty way. I mean in the most finely milled, devastatingly sparkly, disco ball. If you put your flash on your cheek with this on, you see EVERY single micro-glitter in there and it is so fine and like you’ve been kissed with glitter rather than fallen into a craft box! It is unlike anything else and very difficult to describe (if you haven’t already guessed by my poor attempt). It is a thin texture and when applied wet it almost turns to a cream that impacts your face with tremendous effect! Needless to say, you need this in your life. And my best friend had to buy it when she swatched mine and is obsessed!

Morphe High Impact Highlighter (Spark) – I got this in a LookFantastic box and the colour looked a bit dark, and I’ll be honest, it didn’t excite me as much as I hoped for. Then I swatched it. And it has almost a silvery champagneness! Like a pearl! And on the cheeks, even on my pale skin, it looks so healthy yet provides a heavy duty glow! As you can see, I hit pan on this, and I shall be purchasing a new, larger one when I use it up! I can’t get over how unimpressed I was on my first look of it. And then I tried it and diiiiied!

Ofra X Nikkie Tutorials Highlighter (Glazed Donut) – Okay okay, I’ll admit this was a bandwagon item. And I jumped on that baby and oh lord, disappointment was the furthest thing from my mind. This is the most intense, icy highlight! I normally always go for warm and golden highlighters as they suit my complexion. But when I need that contrast of a sickeningly blinding cool toned highlight, with a mauve smokey eye, oh lord, I can’t get OVER it! It is creamy and buttery and metallic! Absolutely to DIE for!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter (Champagne Pop) – Yes, another bandwagon item. But seriously. This is the most perfect golden highlight. It warms the complexion without being too dark for even my ghostly pale face! The texture implies a bit of grittiness of glitter, but that’s only on a finger swatch. On the face and on the brush, it’s almost like the glitter moulds together to produce the most perfect wet, golden glow! I can totally understand why this is a cult classic! It enhances any complexion, any eye look and any outfit! It is like the little black dress of the highlight world! Just lush!p

And those are my top highlighters! An eclectic mix one would say! What is your favourite highlighter? Not that I need any more temptations!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post!
