Product Wars | Nude Lipglosses

Lipglosses are very much part of my routine again! I don’t know why I didn’t think of it sooner; I have short hair which means I get to enjoy lipgloss without having it stick to my hair! My hair is short and doesn’t even get in my eyes let alone my lips! And nude lipglosses are my favourite! They are more wearable, neutral and can really enhance another nude or go well with brighter colours to tone it down! They are extremely versatile!

First of all let’s discuss packaging. All of these do have excellent packaging. Some is more extra than others (Jeffree, we are looking at you). And others are very simplified. My favourite of all the packaging is, I’m gonna be honest, Jeffree Star Cosmetics. It’s absolutely gorgeous, it’s so inspiring to use and view and the component itself is a delight to use and to have decorate my makeup collection! My least favourite of th packaging is Lime Crime. The lid feels very cheap, especially for the price, and mine broke when I twisted it open for the first time. I glued it back on so it doesn’t happen anymore, but should I do that for a fairly high priced lipgloss? Absolutely not!

So, as you have gathered by now, I picked my favourite nude lipglosses in various finishes, formulas and brands and decided to compare them all to find the perfect gloss for you. Bothered about price? We shall judge it! Don’t like sparkles? That’s going to be included too. Stickiness creeps you out? Sorted!! And much more! I am going to score these lipglosses so you can see which one will appeal to you best based on what you look for specifically in a gloss.

Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip (Fairy Floss)

If I’m being entirely honest, the name got my first, but then I saw the colour and I was like OOOOO preeeetty! And immediately added it to my basket! It is a gorgeous milky nude! Has a lovely consistency, not sticky at all but still very nourishing! Plus these are dirt cheap! I get them from a genuine seller I know who sells them at the Β£8 mark but off the website they are cheaper! And for the quality, they are well worth a hell of a lot more!

NYX Candy Slick Glossy Lip Creme (Sugarcoated Kiss)

I saw these when I went to Telford with my friends. And was so intrigued. Candy anything I can totally get on board with, but the nude colours really intrigued me, especially this one! It is a very unique formula; slick is definitely the right word for it! Very cooling and wet feeling, but it doesn’t last long on the lips and has a tendency to slip and slide everywhere! Very thin texture and comfortable, just not the most practical due to its moveable tendencies. Very opaque colour though!

Jeffree Star “Glitter Fantasy” Cosmetics The Gloss (Crystal Kiss)

This is a very lovely formula. Nice and hydrating, Sheer in colour but the sparkle is something else! Such a fine micro glitter that is so dimensional! Yet because it is so fine, it is undetectable on the lips in feeling. But packs a punch visually. Smells delicious! Very buttery and sweet! And lasts fairly well. They actually feel like they hydrate your lips, even when they wear off. The glitter is still very much present still, even when it wears off! Very nice gloss indeed!

Lime Crime Wet Cherry Gloss (Naked Cherry)

The smell. We need to get this out of the way now. Because this smells like the most tastiest cherry pie ever! Such a rich sweet smell! It has a bit of tack to it, but I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s a very sticky gloss. Fairly thick consistency though. So the pigment packs a punch! Although that pigment doesn’t last on the lips as long as they hydrating feeling it gives.

Smashbox Gloss Angeles (Practical Magic)

THIS attracted my attention straight away! The colour is super milky in the tube but doesn’t show up this way on the lips. It is very much a straight glitter gloss. It has a teeny bit of grittiness to it, I found. As well as a bit of tack. But once the glossiness wears off, then the glitter does feel less present. The glitter does also last a fair while on the lips, usually by the end of the day I still have glittery lips. It isn’t mind blowing, but it is pretty!

Zoeva Melody Lipgloss (Radiant Flight)

I have always been a fan of Zoeva but hadn’t tried any of their lip products, and saw these glosses and fell in love. This shade immediately caught my attention. A super milky nude, but on the lips it is very sheer, and you just get a slight pale wash. Very fine micro glitter that you cannot feel at all. They are fairly tacky but lightweight so it makes it very comfortable! I must like it a lot, as I’m nearly out of this one!

All in all, out of all of my shimmery glosses, I like the Jeffree Star “Glitter Fantasy” formula best! Very comfortable, beautiful shimmer and it lasts lovely! Out of the creme lipsticks I like the Colourpop Ultra Glossy lipglosses the best! What is interesting about both of these formulas is they do have the alternative formulas too. So Colourpop also so sheer glittery ones and Jeffree Star has his “Extreme Shine” formula. Which are also delightful, I just don’t have the right colours for this post. In terms of scent, hands down Lime Crime nailed it! Simply delicious, and I consistently open it just to sniff it! Delectable!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post! What’s your favourite nude gloss?
