Lyric Inspired Makeup | I Just Wanna Love You by The Shires

I was inspired when listening to Poison Prince by Amy MacDonald to do makeup inspired by the song. So I thought, instead of doing the actual makeup look the artist wears in the music video, what about makeup that this song inspires you to wear! So this is the series! And I hope you enjoy it! Any song recommendations, leave a comment!

This song is so beautiful and is as it says in the title. It’s a lovely song about a couple just wanting to love each other and nothing else in this world matters. And I’ll be honest, when I first heard this song post break up I was like VOM that’s so cringe… But now currently very happy in a relationship, I find this is a very real song. The lyric “and nobody’s perfect, but you tell me I am and damn I love it”. And that is apt in my relationship. My boyfriend worships the ground I walk on! And tells me I’m perfect. While I don’t agree (low self confidence and all), it means the world that I’m not being compared to anyone or an image of what someone would want in their head (which I’ve suffered with before *rolls eyes*). It’s a gorgeous song with genuine feeling!

I started the look with a base. This time I used Colourpop’s Supershock Shadow in Soul-cialise. I then went into, with a big fluffy brush, the shade 334 for Inglot, which is a rich warm lavender/lilac shade! And blend blend blend, build, build, build! I wanted it super soft and almost like a purple bridal look on the eyelid! I then wanted to smoke out the lower lash line quite heavily, so applied the eyeliner Blackberry from the NYX Faux Blacks Eyeliners! And then went into the Makeup Geek eyeshadow in “Taboo”, and blended/smudged that quite heavily down the lower lash line. And then went back into 334 from Inglot and blended that out! I then went into the Makeup Geek Duo Chrome Eyeshadow in “Phantom” and applied that to the inner corner. Then the piece de resistance, I applied my baby, Lunar by NARS all over Soul-cialise for an extra POW! Finally I applied my Wispies by Ardell and mascara! And the look was complete!

I hope you enjoyed this look! It’s like smokey purple bridal chic! I wanted to keep it super soft!

Thank you so much for reading! 💛✨
