Full Review | Revlon Photo Ready Perfecting Primer

Primers are something I am heavily invested in currently. Mainly hydrating primers, but I was also curious about this. I saw an advert, and I saw the effects of it in pores and as a way to mattify. And it seemed to very successful to do those effects! So I picked it up, and I have tried it. Now it’s time to deliver my thoughts!

The packaging is good. It’s sturdy and the pump is effective. However due to the thick texture of this primer, I’m worried I won’t be able to use all of this up fully. The lid also doesn’t stay on, so I tend to just keep it without the lid. Which is a little annoying, but I’m fine with it; it’s not the worst thing!

The formula. Now I have suuuuper dry and dehydrated skin. So I’m not normally as fond of a mattifying look, in general. However, I have certain matte foundations that, when I wear my hydrating primers, they don’t look that great. So thought this was a good idea to see how they react when wearing a more smoothing primer. I have quite deep and large pores. Specially on my cheeks. So when applying this, i was super impressed with how smoothing and pore filling this was. This has been the only primer I have ever used that has given the impression of filled pores! Super impressed! However I did find with that, it did make my dryness around my nose very exaggerated. So I have learnt I should only wear this on my cheeks. Not on my nose!

Look at my damn face! Can you see how matte my skin looks! And how much less visible my pores are! Super chuffed! This is literally the only primer I have used that does this for me! POREfessional, e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer, Smashbox…it’s all not worked as well as this. So if you’re struggling with your pores, it’ll do no harm in giving this go! For me, this is the best porefilling and mattifying primer I’ve tried! But that’s just me!

I find I do need to wear a moisturiser underneath this, as you can see in the first picture. I wore my Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrator, and then applied this over the top. And my skin still felt plump and moisturised, even if it looked super matte! As you can see in the second picture!

All in all, I liked this! Just not on my nose. I would only applied this on my cheeks! To avoid exaggerated texture! But for the pores on my cheeks, this was bomb! Just be mindful if you have dryness, it’s going to cling to the dryness and accentuate that dryness.

I really hope you enjoyed this blog post!

Thank you so much for reading! 💛✨
